A. COOK – Director/Choreographer
Originally from New York, Scott has been directing and choreographing musical theatre and live stage shows nationally and abroad for over 27 years. His credits include: Legally Blonde - The Musical (regional premiere), The Marvelous Wonderettes, The Great American Trailer Park Musical (winner of Fringe Festival 2010 BEST IN FEST), Parade, Plaid Tidings, Disney High School Musical, Cats, The Odd Couple, Big River, A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum, Footloose, Cabaret, Three Penny Opera, Nuncrackers, Blithe Spirit, Over The River and Through The Woods, Deathtrap, Jekyll & Hyde, Meat Street, 42nd Street, A Chorus Line, Anything Goes, Blood Brothers, Brigadoon, Company, Dames At Sea, Damn Yankees, Eating Raoul: The Musical, Forever Plaid, Godspell, Grease, Guys & Dolls, Little Shop of Horrors, The Rocky Horror Show, The Taffetas and The Will Roger’s Follies. On February 16, 2006 Scott opened the first community theater production in Florida of the spectacular dance musical, Cats. The production was mounted at the award winning Theater Winter Haven in Winter Haven, FL. For a closer look at this exciting venture, tour the TWH CATS picture gallery at: CATS GALLERY - 2006 Scott's original show design & concept works for the stage include: Journey Into Jungle Book, Future Fantasia and Tapestry for the Walt Disney World Company, Stories of Christmas for Universal Studios Florida, the first North American staging of Marsinah: A Song from the Underworld, created for Amnesty International, Whose Brain Is It Anyway? and Transitions for Valencia Community College, Opening Ceremonies-Welcome To Our World for the Florida Special Olympics Summer Games 1999, Houdini: the Musical, Sandman and Honor. His directorial film credits include: Meat Street, Vision Awards 2002, Verminator 2: Ground Hog Day, Ever, Deck The Halls, Wonder Woman – The Music Video and That’s A Wrap, a documentary on Florida Film Festival 2002. Scott owns and operates CBC Creative, Inc. dedicated to the design and rental of AUDREY II puppets, the man-eating plant from Little Shop of Horrors. CBC Creative is endorsed by the NY show licensing company, MTI, as an official southeastern rental facility. AUDREY II can be seen at: http://www.audrey2.com Scott received his Technical Certificates in Motion Picture Technology and Digi-Media Technology from Valencia Community College in the summer of 2003. He has taught both Internet Design and Digital Video for the University of Central Florida from 2003-2005. He currently serves on the Digital Media Advisory Board for Valencia Community College in Orlando, FL. In 2007, Scott
created THEATREWORKS FLORIDA - a 501(c)(3) musical theatre company
working toward its regional, professional status. The company is based
in Davenport, Florida. THEATREWORKS FLORIDA offers some of the finest
theatrical musicals available today as well as produces new, original
works from area artists and artists from around the country. THEATREWORKS
FLORIDA'S launch project occured in MARCH 2008 with DISNEY HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL. LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS is currently in production, playing at the Orlando Int'l Fringe Festival May 16-28, 2012. |
